Open them on the shady side to take advantage of the free light source. • Change air filters regularly. This will help your HVAC run more efficiently. Make sure the outside part of your air conditioning unit is clean and free of debris and grass clippings, and schedule regular maintenance for your cooling equipment. Have you been a residential customer for more than 12 months? • Consider Balanced Billing to maintain a consistent bill throughout the year, based on your billing history. This will help you better manage your finances when bills typically tend to spike. Installing a fence or deck? WAIT! Here’s what you need to know first. • Whether you are going to do it yourself or hire a professional, smart digging means calling 811 before each job. • When you call 811, operators will ask for the location of your digging job and notify the appropriate utilities. Each utility will send a professional locator to mark your lines for free. • It’s important to call 811 before even small projects like planting trees and shrubs. Don’t forget one important number that will change. Your NES account number will change when you move and transfer service to a new address. If you’re enrolled in NES E-bill, be sure to add your new NES account to your online profile, and select the E-bill checkbox. Otherwise, the system cannot generate an electronic bill each month for your new account. Simply login from nespower.com and select the “Add an NES Account” link on your profile landing page. You will need your NES account number OR phone number and the last four digits of your Social Security Number OR meter number. You are eligible to enroll in E-bill once you receive your first paper bill in the mail.
