The team sampled 25 Gas Extraction Wells throughout the North Quarry for levels of CO, which is one of several indicators the team uses to monitor landfill conditions. The results from the month of January confirm that all wells in the North Quarry register below the lowestpossible reporting indicators for CO. The reporting indicators were established in the North Quarry Action Plan, which was developed in coordination with the Missouri Attorney General and Missouri Department of Natural Resources. These results confirm previous assessments that the Subsurface Smoldering Event (SSE) has not impacted the North Quarry, which is the area closest in proximity to the radiological materials in the adjacent West lake landfill. CO levels in all 25 wells sampled were below 1,000 parts per million. In 19 of the 25 wells, CO levels were nondetectable. The lack of CO indicators, together with stable temperatures, healthy well conditions and no signs of accelerated surface settlement in the North Quarry provide further confirmation that the North Quarry remains unimpacted by the SSE occurring in the South Quarry. The landfill team will conduct two additional CO sampling events in the North Quarry in coming months. Those results will be included in monthly reports due April 20 and June 20. ### *********************** ATTACHMENT NOT DELIVERED ******************* This Email message contained an attachment named imageOOl.jpg which may be a computer program.
