Project Kritter Control
We apologize for the misprint in last month’s
newsletter regarding the contact information for
the Project Kritter Control. Below is the correct
information:
Sun ‘n Lake has a growing population of feral
cats. Thanks to caring citizens, there is an active
program called Key West Kritter Patrol financed
by C.C. Crane of Lake Placid that traps, neuters and releases “TNR” feral
cats. Cats are trapped and taken to a veterinarian where they are
neutered/spayed, as well as given rabies and distemper shots. Cats are
then returned and released near its point of capture. One ear is clipped
in order to identify those cats that have been treated. Note: The program
takes feral cats ONLY which are trapped as part of this program. Kittens
must be at least 12 weeks old to be a part of this program.
Please call Sharon at 863-458-2884 if you have or know of a feral
colony or would like to get involved in this program. It is a worthy
project for both animal lovers and those who want to make a positive
community impact. Volunteers and donations are greatly appreciated.
