Philadelphia Auto Show Black Tie Tailgate Tickets Now Available
--New catering menu designed by Kevin Spraga, Townsend Wentz and Termini Bros Bakery---Event to benefit the Division of Neurology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia-E. Norriton, Pa., Dec. 15, 2016 – The Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation, the philanthropic arm of
the Philadelphia Auto Show, announces tickets are now available for the 2017 Black Tie Tailgate. The
one-of-a-kind preview of the Philadelphia Auto Show will take place on Friday, Jan. 27, from 7 to 11:30
p.m. at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Tickets start at $250 per person and are available at
phillyautoshow.com. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Division of Neurology at Children’s
Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
The Black Tie Tailgate is the largest gala in Philadelphia spanning over 700,000 square feet and
traditionally welcoming approximately 5,000 guests. In 2016, the event raised nearly $600,000 for
CHOP. The funds led to the creation of a Leukodystrophy Center of Excellence, a comprehensive clinical
and research program for infants, children and youth with serious brain disorders. The Division of
Neurology at CHOP will remain the beneficiary in 2017.
“The Neurology faculty at CHOP is committed to cutting edge research and treatments to help children
with stroke, traumatic brain injury, seizures, headache, multiple sclerosis, inherited diseases such as
leukodystrophies, neuromuscular disorders including muscular dystrophy and spinal muscular atrophy
and more,” said Dr. Brenda Banwell, division chief and co-chair of the Black Tie Tailgate. “We are very
excited to be the beneficiary of the Black Tie Tailgate again this year and we look forward to exceeding
our fundraising goals so we can continue to help more children in the future.”
New for this year’s event is a special catering menu designed by some of Philadelphia most notable
chefs. Kevin Sbraga of Sbraga Dining, including Sbraga, The Fat Ham University City and The Fat Ham
King of Prussia along with Townsend Wentz of Townsend and A Mano will create an exclusive menu for
guests to savor. The iconic Termini Bros Bakery will provide desserts for the evening.
“Black Tie Tailgate guests are in for a treat because of our new partnerships with these fantastic chefs in
Philadelphia. The menu promises to be one of the best we’ve ever had. The event is poised to break
attendance and fundraising records,” said David Kelleher, chairman of the Black Tie Tailgate and the
Philadelphia Auto Show.
