Textile Effects DICRYLAN® SD deep dye technologies Unleash the power of the dark side Color depth Up to 50% increase on reactive dyed cotton Up to 60% increase on disperse dyed polyester 20% depth enhancement on 100% wool DICRYLAN® SD deep dye technologies Unleash the power of the dark side Delivering unparalleled, never before seen depths of shades on all fibres DICRYLAN® SD Has your customer asked you to provide a deeper blue or the blackest black only for you to be limited by the build-up of the dye or fastness limitations? Have you been frustrated that those demands cannot be realised without compromise? Well those days are over. Dicrylan SD represents a technological breakthrough in achieving unparalleled color depths on all fibres without any compromise on fastness properties. For the first time increasing requirements and standards can be met without compromise. Challenges Limited depth of black and navy shades Increasing dye add-on can have a negative impact on fastness Increasing requirement of deeper shades and super-black standards Difficulty in achieving deeper shades without compromise DICRYLAN® SD Benefits Super-black effects on all fibres including polyester, cotton and wool Achieves darker shades which were previously unattainable Enhances brilliancy, lustre and surface softness Reduces dyestuff consumption Unparalled depth of shade DICRYLAN® SD cleverly utilizes a novel approach for increasing the depth of shade especially on dark shades through the use of two mechanisms, light absorption and light polarization. When light hits the small particles of the DICRYLAN® SD polymer backbone, it scatters in all directions by particles which are much smaller than the wavelength of the light. This elastic scattering, known as Rayleigh scattering, results in a deeper shade as less light is reflected back to the observer. DICRYLAN® SD Particle Incident Light Diffused Light Absorption Less reflection resulting in a deeper shade Uniquely with DICRYLAN® SD, this effect is further enhanced by light polarization resulting from the precise orientation of the polymer structure. Polarization is a property of waves that can oscillate with more than one orientation. Electromagnetic waves, such as light, exhibit polarization. When light travels in free space, in most cases it propagates as a transverse wave. The polarization is perpendicular to the wave’s direction of travel. With DICRYLAN® SD the polymer units are orientated not only perpendicular to the light source but also with each other. This results in a significant reduction in the light that is transmitted through providing a further absorption effect leading to unparalleled, never seen before depths of shade.
