THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL QUALIFYING ROUNDS OF THE 2009 PHILIP C. JESSUP INTERNATIONAL LAW MOOT COURT COMPETITION NATIONAL SUPPLEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULE 6.0 ON MEMORIALS 07 JANUARY 2009 6.1 Submission of Electronic Copies of Memorials (a) Each Team shall submit electronic copies of its Applicant and Respondent Memorials to the ILSA Executive Office at [email protected] cc: [email protected] and [email protected] in a single email no later than 11:59 p.m. (23:59), Philippine standard time, of 12 January 2009. 6.2 Submission of Paper Copy Versions of Memorials (a) Paper copy versions of the memorials shall be printed on a single side of the paper and formatted on standard letter-size paper, 8.5 x 11 inches (21.6 x 27.9 cm), with equal margins of at least one inch (2.54 cm) on all four sides. Memorials shall be spiral bound. (b) The Applicant memorial shall have an outside front and an outside back cover of light blue, while the Respondent memorial shall have an outside front and an outside back cover of light red. Memorials shall have two (2) front cover pages: an outside front cover and an inside front cover. The inside front cover shall be in plain white paper. Both outside and inside front covers shall contain the same information required under 6.3.2 of the Official Rules. (c) Each Team shall also submit twelve (12) paper copy version of its Applicant's Memorial and twelve (12) paper copy version of its Respondent's Memorial in a single parcel which shall be dispatched and postmarked no later than 16 January 2009 via 24-hour or faster delivery service DHL, LBC, 2GO, or similar express couriers addressed to Ralph A. Sarmiento at Sarmiento Business Center, Door # 5 Terra II Building, C.L. Montelibano Drive, Bacolod City, 6100 Philippines. The parcel containing the memorials must bear a courier-issued postmark, tracking label or other indication of the date of mailing. (d) After mailing, the Team shall text (sms) the tracking or mailing reference number to cellphone no. +639209387440. Each Team shall retain its mailing receipts as proof of the date of mailing. In the event of a dispute, the sending team has the burden of establishing that its memorials were appropriately addressed and were timely and properly mailed.
