Course Choice Procedures 2016-2017
This letter summarises details for current S5 and S6 pupil who wish to request a change in their
subject/s and/or level of study following receipt of their SQA exam results.
SQA RESULTS DAY
SQA results will be delivered to pupils on Tuesday 9 August 2016. All pupils will receive a paper
copy of their certificate by mail. Pupils have also been given instructions on how to register with ‘My
SQA’ which allows them to receive exam results by text message and online. For further details, please

REQUEST TO CHANGE SUBJECT/LEVEL OF STUDY - ARRANGEMENTS
If pupils wish to request a change to their subjects and/or levels based on their SQA results, they should
come into school on Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 August to discuss their options. Consultations
will take place at the following times:
Sixth Year Pupils
Fifth Year Pupils
Tuesday 16 August
9:30 – 12:00 and 1:00 – 3:00pm
Wednesday 17 August 9:30 – 12:00 and 1:00 – 3:00pm
Due to the large number of pupils returning to the senior school, it is not recommended to change subject
choices unless it is absolutely essential. As many subjects are approaching maximum sizes, places on
some courses will be allocated on the basis of initial choice, prior attainment and achievement.
