Our clients are accommodated in 10 en-suite double rooms with modern equipment including TV. The barrier-free building is located in a quiet place and the staff aims at the creation of home-like environment. www.skp-centrum.cz History The civilian association SKP-CENTRUM, o.s. prepared a project application for FM/EHP Norway which was approved in 2006. The objective of Nursing Home Simeon – a respite service facility for 20 clients – was the development and improvement of social service in the given region. The plan further intended to improve insufficient capacity of respite care in the Pardubický Region. The project was completed with the aim to create 10 new jobs in a higher unemployment area. The Nursing Home Simeon started its operation in 2009. Overall building costs were roughly 18 million CZK. www.skp-centrum.cz Our team The clients are taken care by a highly professional team consisting of: • a coordinator • a nurse • a social worker • a caregiver • a technical worker • a cleaning staff www.skp-centrum.cz Respire service The mission of Nursing Home Simeon is to provide social care, accommodation and full board to adults who have a limited capacity to take care of themselves due to their age, physical handicap or a long-term inability and who temporarily (for a maximum of three months) appear to be without any assistance and support of their family or friends who normally take care of them. The facility enables the family or friends to take time for a necessary rest. www.skp-centrum.cz The Home Simeon offers its clients accommodation, full board, 24-hour care and a limited scope of healthcare service. We approach each client individually. Our clients enjoy everyday activation programme, such as training fine and gross motor skills , memory training, assisted newspaper reading and rehabilitation walking. They regularly go for walks in the nearby vicinity, bake pastry, do handicraft, sing, play games, go for canistherapy, assisted reading, Monday religious service in the local chapel, they are visited by children from the local school and they can opt for work in the herb garden. Our clients often enjoy performances by students of the elementary school of Horní Jelení and many more social events. www.skp-centrum.cz Payment for the servies and financing • Each client of the respite service (or his/her family) pays the full amount of the service. The price according to the current tariff is 200.- CZK for accommodation and 160.- CZK for all day meals. We further charge service rendered to each client according to their health and mental state and demands (2.- CZK/ minute). We do not claim any fee for care. • Clients of the home for the physically challenged (or their family) pay a monthly amount of 10,950.- CZK for accommodation and full board. This type of service claims the contribution for care. • Clients can draw contributions from their health insurance for the care provided by a nurse (e.g. re-bandage, application of insulin) as prescribed by the client´s physician. • Financing: the Pardubický Region www.skp-centrum.cz Statistical data • The respite service in 2015 was rendered to 93 new users (62 women and 31 men). We made 181 agreements of service). Average bed occupancy rate in 2015 was 81%. • We rendered service of the home for the physically challenged to 5 users (4 women and 1 man).
