Statement of compliance
(RoHS-II, WEEE and REACH)
Statement of RoHS-II compliance
The Council of The European Union and The European Parliament has issued a directive known as
Directive 2011/65/EU of 8 June 2011 on Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in
electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS-II).
Electrical and electronic equipment means equipment which is dependent on electrical currents or
electromagnetic fields in order to work properly and equipment for the generation, transfer and
measurement of such currents and fields and designed for use with a voltage not exceeding 1000
Volts for AC and 1500 Volts for DC
All Minkels products offered to our clients are RoHS-II compliant.
Statement of WEEE compliance
The Council of The European Union and The European Parliament also has issued a directive known
as the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (2002/96/EC).
The WEEE applies to a wide range of electronic and electrical products. WEEE encourages the
collection, treatment, recycling and recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment. WEEE
makes producers and importers responsible for financing of the collection, treatment and recovery
of WEEE. However WEEE legislation is drafted and implemented separately in each of the 27 EU
Member States.
Under the proposed Dutch Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations, for
equipment that you buy from Minkels in The Netherlands, Minkels has established a recycling
contract with the ‘Stichting RTA’ and will cover any costs of treatment, recycling and recovery of
the equipment on arrival at the ‘Stichting RTA’ facility in The Netherlands.
In our offer the costs of treatment, recycling and recovery of the equipment are calculated.
If you decide to buy new equipment, you have the possibility to offers the old equipment for
recycling and recovery. You are able to do that via www.stichtingrta.nl.
Statement of REACH compliance
The Council of The European Union and The European Parliament also has issued a directive known
as the Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemical substances and products Directive
(EC 1907/2006). The REACH process will review some 30,000 chemical substances and register
and restrict those that are determined to pose specific carcinogenic and reproductive health risks to
humans.
Minkels supports the overall REACH objective of improving the protection of human health and the
environment and will meet all applicable REACH requirements. Minkels and all is strongly
committed to working with customers and supply chain to define and implement the REACH
requirements and ensure a smooth transition to compliance.
