Cultural Companions Event Guide: February-March 2014
Welcome to you all.
We have been talking to the organisers of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival (JDIFF) 13th -23rd Feb and they are very keen to
encourage older people to attend their programme. I was at the launch recently and was impressed with what they have on offer. We are also
pleased to say that they have offered Cultural Companions a discount of 20% on ticket prices if we have a group of 25-30. (The usual discount
for older people is 10 %.)

We have three recommendations for Cultural Companions that we hope you come to: two of the films are in the afternoon and the evening
one is the one 2013 film with Brenda Fricker and James Fox who will be at the screening.
We are also including The Man in the Woman’s Shoes in this event guide. It was very popular during Bealtaine 2013.

All ticketed events must be booked through Cultural Companions by, Friday 7th February 2014.
Also, the FREE events must be booked in advance through Cultural Companions because of limited seating, etc.

If you book a ticket for a paid event and do not turn up you will be expected to pay the full ticket price as we will have paid for the tickets in
advance. We will try to pass on your ticket to someone but that is not always possible, and in this event you are liable for the cost.
Please also arrive in plenty of time for ticketed events as the Meet and Greet person is usually going to the performance/event too.
If you have not arrived by 15 minutes to curtain up your ticket will be left at the box office.
Please make any special access requirements known to us at time of booking. As far as possible we will let you know if the venue is accessible
but if you have further questions about the venue, then please contact them directly as they will be better able to answer your questions/help
you
TRANSPORT
If you require transport to any event, you could check if anyone else from your area is attending the same event and perhaps wouldn’t mind
giving you a lift or sharing a taxi. We encourage you to make contact with other Cultural Companions who are listed in the Directory. Call Kim
to see if someone else from your area is going to the same event as you. You could call them beforehand and perhaps organise to travel
together or meet afterwards.
