More and more, we are
learning of the importance
of sport and physical activity in
the education of young people.
At Meriden, sport provides
many benefits, including:
— teaching girls how to
win and lose graciously
— developing teamwork
and leadership skills
— improving the physical fitness
of the participants
— creating opportunities for
social activities and friendship
— developing and maintaining
cognitive capacity
— keeping girls healthy!
It is only fitting, therefore, that the next building
project at Meriden is the construction of an
impressive sports complex for the benefit of girls
across the School. The sports complex will include
indoor and outdoor courts for tennis, basketball
and netball; underground car parking; a fitness/
weights room; new learning spaces; and much more!
This Capital Appeal, organised by the Meriden
Foundation, is an opportunity for all members
of the Meriden community to contribute to
the well-being of our students. There is no
more worthy cause than to promote the wellbeing of our girls, so I encourage all friends of
Meriden to be involved in this Capital Appeal.
