Location Request by Browser
When you first enter the LCIS application you may be presented the following request from Google:
In order for the Google map window to operate correctly you will need to either click “Allow Once” or
“Always Allow” under the “Options for this site”
Create New Request
When entering a new request you will have three
options for locating the closure; 1) by contract, 2) by
permit, and 3) by location.
Locate by Contract or Permit
Once you type three numbers of a contract or permit, LCIS will auto
populate a dropdown that allows you to select the contract, or permit,
you want.
When a contract, or permit, is selected, LCIS performs three actions:
1) Auto expands a new section and displays the
contract, or permit information.

2) Displays mile point information. The user has the
option to set a specific mile point range to CLIP the
project. The CLIP button changes the selected portion
of the project to reflect what is in the milepoint boxes.
When the user changes one of the milepoint values and then selects the CLIP button the map
will then depict only that length of the project.
The user can also use the tool menu in the map window to crop the
project. For example, select the box tool and draw box around the
portion of project covered by the closure request. Once the shape
is drawn two new tools are added to the tool menu, REMOVE
DRAWING and CROP TO BOUNDS. Use these tools to either
remove the project entirely or crop the project to the segment
within the drawn shape.
3) Highlights the contract, or permit, on the map inset.
The next step is to add the Description of Lane Closure Location and Description of Work to be
Performed.

the approval group.
All Lane Closure Requests must be made at least 14 in advance of the start of the closure. If a request
does not meet the 14 day requirement, the request will still be submitted but there will be an alert
added to the top of the request.

The email will contain a link to the closure request.
When the closure request link is selected, the approver will be taken to the referenced closure request
for them to take action. Depending on their authorization level, the reviewer will be presented with
possible approval actions. After reviewing the closure request the reviewer selects an action and then
saves changes. Additional emails will be sent to either the next approval tree for additional review or, in
the event of final approval or denial, directly to the requestor.
