GENERAL FUNCTION
To gain relevant experience in providing services to refugee populations, especially those that will
help refugees become self-sufficient. Specifically, to assist in the development of a 6 week course to
familiarize parents with the American school system and standards to ultimately increase graduation
rates in refugee communities
RESPONSIBILITIES





Assist in school enrollment of school aged children
Assist in the development of materials to be used in the 6 week course for parents
Lead classes on the American School System for refugee parents
Attend meetings and community events related to refugee/ immigrant population
Research and develop a working knowledge of relevant school policies at both state and
district levels.
QUALIFICATIONS

Undergraduate Student pursuing a degree with an International or Educational focus
Junior or Senior Standing
