Client: AA Telecom Location: New York, United States Product: PINless and Calling Card THE CHALLENGE AA Telecom is a New York based company that offers many different VoIP services to their customers. New York's booming tourist industry offers many unique challenges for local businesses. AA Telecom saw this as an opportunity and required a unique solution to adapt their VoIP services to customers who were often seeking temporary solutions while on vacation. They wanted customers to be able to go to a retail store and purchase PINless calling services without the hassle of registering for an account, since they would only need the service for a short time. 2 “Agents also have the unique ability to recharge customer's accounts over the phone through IVR (Interactive Voice Response), allowing service providers to sign up agents that may not have access to a computer or internet at their retail locations.” THE SOLUTION IPsmarx reviewed AA Telecom’s challenges and decided that in order to satisfy the demand of the market, AA Telecom would need a Retail Store Recharge system. So IPsmarx’s R&D team went to work developing just such a solution. With this feature, Payment Based Resellers (Resellers paid through a commission calculated on customer payments) can sign a customer up with little more than their phone number. Customers can go to any shop offering this service and provide the clerk with the phone number for the phone they will be making calls from. The clerk then checks the system for this number. If the number has not been added before, it will be automatically registered and the customer can make a payment and begin to make VoIP calls from their cell or landline phone without having to enter a PIN. If the number has already been entered into system, the customer simply makes a payment to recharge their account. This allows a much faster solution for registering customers in a fast-paced retail environment. And because customers are only using the service temporarily, it is the perfect solution for tourist destinations. Administrators will also have access to reporting features for details about payments, profit, and other information; all by simply entering the customer's phone number. Agents also have the unique ability to recharge customer's accounts over the phone through IVR (Interactive Voice Response), allowing service providers to sign up agents that may not have access to a computer or internet at their retail locations. Since only a phone is needed to complete the transaction, this new system enables service providers to open up a non-traditional network of PINless agents such as ethnic grocers, restaurants and small convenience stores.
