Ad Space Price Sheet During its first year, the Bayou City Book Festival (previously known as Lone Star Book Festival) hosted over 2,000 visitors on the Lone Star College-Kingwood campus with an additional 200 attendees at our partner event at The Holocaust Museum in Downtown Houston. In 2017, we will have a range of events throughout the Summer and Fall of 2016 and into the Spring of 2017. These events will take place at many of the Lone Star College campuses and therefore all over Houston. July 2016 Dear Friends, Thank you for your support of the Inaugural Lone Star Book Festival. The festival was a rousing success with over 150 authors converging on the Kingwood Campus of Lone Star College on April 8th and 9th and over 2,000 readers coming to hear them. As we move toward the 2017 festival, we are making positive changes. First off, we are re-naming the festival the Bayou City Book Festival. We wish to establish the festival as a Houston-wide event and we think our new name better reflects this goal. In addition to this modification, we are introducing a new Director. Dr. John Barr did a resounding job envisioning and implementing the first book festival. We are just as confident in our new Director, Ms. Chelsie Meredith, who served as the Literary Director for the festival over the past year. We are very pleased with these changes and hope that you are as well. Planning is underway for the 2017 Bayou City Book Festival (BCBF) where we will celebrate our passion for literacy and literary works. The 2017 gathering promises to deliver unique programming geared toward all ages, Keynote authors speaking to the level of diversity featured in Houston, and partnerships eager to promote literacy within our community.
