announced the hiring of
Barbara Berglund as its
newest quality assurance
manager.
Berglund comes to Royal
Chemical with more than
22 years of experience in
the chemical industry.

As part of a continued effort to build for the future, Royal Chemical, a company specializing in
custom chemical blending, toll blending and chemical manufacturing, recently completed an
expansion of its plant in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
To satisfy the needs of its customers, Royal Chemical expanded the plant's capabilities, further
increasing its blending capacity.
"This expansion is an example of making sure our customers are taken care of and get exactly
what they need," said Mark Rogers, the plant's director of operations. "Not only does this allow
us to do more for our current customers, but it also gives us a distinct advantage in blending
capacity for future customers."
The new system is sanitary in design and capable of producing material that is micro­sensitive,
without the concern for bacterial contamination. The East Stroudsburg plant has highly
advanced computer­automated systems, allowing for increased capabilities and production

Industry's Trucking Situation
Each of your operations has a dependency on
moving truckload freight to be successful.
We know there are serious concerns about the
marketplace currently and what we are trying to do
about it. DAT's trendlines shows a great illustration
of the current truckload capacity and rate
environment, and it is updated weekly.
The measure takes data from thousands of
truckloads weekly and compiles into a key stat
known as the load to truck ratio. The higher the
measure, the more loads there are vs. available trucks. Historically, there are always more
loads than trucks available on the spot market, but in December 2013 this measure really took
off and we are currently in an extreme situation. Many industry pundits say we're hitting the perfect storm with many factors that have been
brewing for a while coming together.

What You Need
Royal Chemical Helps Produce Sweat X Detergent, Used by the
Cleveland Indians
When it comes to making sure the uniforms worn by the
Cleveland Indians are clean and smell great, Renegade
Brands' Sweat X Sport laundry detergent, produced by
Royal Chemical, is the MVD (most valuable detergent).
Royal Chemical's Macedonia plant does the chemical
blending to create Renegade Brands' Sweat X Sport
detergent, the detergent trusted by the Cleveland Indians
to wash their uniforms.
Renegade Brands, based in Beachwood, Ohio, is owned
and operated by a group of six athletes with a goal to
deliver the highest­quality cleaning products without
producing toxins that harm the environment. Every part of
the supply­chain process in the creation of each bottle of
