An address that refers to another
location, such as a website, a
different slide, or an external file

Underlined text, usually blue in
color (changes to purple when
clicked)
 Hyperlink Options:
 Existing File or Webpage – Opens another file or the web
browser
 Place in this Document – goes to another slide in the
same presentation
 Create new Document – creates a new presentation
 Email Address – creates a link to open Outlook to send an
email
 Can be a graphic
 Target: page, file, or slide that opens when you click a link

2012) or by right-clicking and choosing Open Hyperlink
Action Button: a graphic that serves
as a hyperlink to jump to a location
or perform an action (John Wiley &

A grouping of contiguous slides

Beneficial for long presentations
Can move, format, and delete an
entire section (John Wiley & Sons,

 Allows the user to make changes on one
slide, which will be applied to all slides
that have that same layout
 Ensures consistency throughout the
presentation
