Area firms make Inc. 5000 fast-growth list

A dozen Baton Rouge-area firms, led by Hollywood Trucks LLC, and five Lafayette firms were among the 31
Louisiana companies that made this year’s Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies.
Townsend, a Lafayette network of addiction-treatment clinics, was the highest-ranked Louisiana company at
No. 182. Townsend’s revenue grew 1,907 percent over the three years ending 2011 to $4.4 million.
Hollywood Trucks, which provides transportation to the entertainment industry, ranked No. 676. The company’s
revenue jumped 528 percent over three years, with $3.8 million in 2011.
The Inc. list measures revenue growth over three years ending in 2011.
“Things are going great. We feel very fortunate to be included in the list,” Hollywood Trucks founder and Chief
Executive Officer Andre Champagne said. “I haven’t seen the entire list, but I’m sure the company we’re in is
just one all you can do is be thankful for.”
Champagne said although the company grew rapidly in the past three years, the next three will bring even
greater change.
Hollywood Trucks is planning to expand globally and plans to establish offices in Shanghai, China; Toulouse,
France; Los Angeles; and Utah, Champagne said. The largest operation will remain in Baton Rouge.
If all goes as expected, the company could see its employment grow from nine workers in 2011 to between 100
and 200 by the time the expansion is complete, Champagne said.
Tillage Construction came in behind Hollywood Trucks at No. 805. The Baton Rouge company’s services
include design-build, new construction and commercial renovations. The company’s revenue grew 424 percent
over the past three years, reaching $18.2 million in 2011; added 16 jobs.
Owner Keith Tillage said he was extremely excited at the recognition for the company’s hard work.

“Everybody’s just elated, and we’re just moving forward right now,” he said.
Tillage Construction recently opened an office in Dallas, a market that offers the firm enormous opportunities
for public work, he said.
Other Baton Rouge companies on the list include:

Resource Environmental Solutions, No. 1991. The company restores and preserves wetlands and coastlines, selling developers mitigation credits to offset projects in environmentally sensitive areas. It had threeyear revenue growth of 135 percent to $15.1 million; added 13 jobs.

Sparkhound, No. 2033. The company offers information technology staffing and consulting services to
small- and mid-sized businesses. It had three-year revenue growth of 131 percent to $20.7 million; added
66 jobs.

PreSonus Audio Electronics, No. 2062. The company designs and makes audio equipment, including
recording software, sound mixers, microphone pre-amps and signal processors. It had three-year revenue
growth of 128 percent to $43.4 million; added 45 jobs.
•
ShoppersChoice.com, No. 2596. Online retailer of appliances, furniture and home accessories, including
gas and charcoal grills, smokers, cookware, cutlery and patio furniture. It had three-year revenue growth of
92 percent to $31.9 million; added 29 jobs.
•
LANtec of Louisiana, No. 2951. Company offers instruction for public and private sector in software, hardware, networking, programming and Internet technologies. It had three-year revenue growth of 75 percent
to $4.9 million; added 15 jobs.
•
Window World of Baton Rouge, No. 2963. Supplies and installs vinyl replacement windows and doors. It
had three-year revenue growth of 74 percent to $36.7 million; added 48 jobs.

MMO Behavioral Health Systems. Provides inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services throughout Louisiana and expects to expand to surrounding states within the next year. It had three-year revenue growth of
50 percent to $33.7 million; added 200 jobs.

Raising Cane’s Restaurants, No. 3720. Fried chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, cole slaw, Texas toast and
Cane’s sauce. It had three-year revenue growth of 45 percent to $164 million; added 1,830 jobs.
•
Starmount Life Insurance, No. 3881. Along with sister company, AlwaysCare Benefits, offers individual life
and health insurance and employee benefit plans, from life and accident coverage to group vision, life,
disability, critical illness, accident and limited-benefit medical plans. It had three-year revenue growth of 40
percent to $66.3 million; added 24 jobs.
•
Voodoo BBQ & Grill Franchising. Prairieville firm prepares, serves and markets Louisiana fast-casual
restaurant dining and provides catering services. It had three-year revenue growth of 5 percent to $3.9
million; added seven jobs.
The other Lafayette-area firms were:

Apex Freight Services, No. 860. The firm specializes in moving hazardous goods, oversize loads and other
materials that create logistical problems. Three-year revenue growth of 392 percent to $19 million; added
24 jobs.

Bizzuka, No. 2641. The company makes a web-content management platform that allows small and midsize businesses to manage their websites, mobile sites and social media networks. Three-year revenue
growth of 90 percent to $2.6 million; added 11 jobs.
•
Acadian Companies, No. 3915. Services include emergency and non-emergency ambulance services;
safety training, alarm and individual monitoring; fixed-wing air charters; and an Emergency Medical Services Academy. Three-year revenue growth of 39 percent to $380.6 million; added 898 jobs.

golf gear personalization. Three-year revenue growth of 30 percent to $13.7 million.
