Application to request an increase in student numbers for IP courses

Independent prescribing programme: Application to
request approval of an increase in student numbers
Introduction
Accreditation of independent prescribing programmes is granted based on the student numbers and number of
cohorts described at the accreditation event. The GPhC accreditation team review the full course provision
including staffing and resources to inform their decision on whether the programme can support the numbers
planned.
We recognise that during the three year accreditation cycle, programmes may wish to increase their intake in
response to both internal and external factors. Under the standing conditions of accreditation, any increase in
student numbers must be notified to the GPhC and approved by an accreditation team.
In order to approve a request to increase numbers, the accreditation team will require information about the
planned increase, together with details of how the university intends to manage the additional numbers.
We have created this short application form for providers who wish to request approval of an increase in student
numbers.
