Friday 26th February
I’m sure many of you will have noticed a group of young adults in and around our
playing fields the last few days. I’d like to record our gratitude to the young men
and women involved with The Prince’s Trust for their hard work and
commitment. We are looking forward to raised beds for the children to plant
vegetables, a wildlife area and even a story telling area. Whatever they are able to
complete for us, we will be delighted. Above all we are grateful to them for
choosing us – for wishing to make a difference for the children of Gorefield.
Please do stop and thank them if you see them working outside.
Diary Dates:
I enjoyed the wonderful assembly
presented by the children of Robins
class. I’m sure those of you who were
able to join us will have enjoyed not only
the assembly and the singing, but joining
in with their art lesson afterwards too.

Parent Consultations
Friday 11th March
Penguins Assembly (am)
Please note that our Parent
Consultations are two weeks away. You
will shortly receive letters to book your
appointments. It is always difficult to
manage everyone’s preferences so the
more able you are to give us options the
more helpful it will be. We will also
request you to complete our annual
questionnaire (or the OfSTED
ParentView online questionnaire), and
will be seeking your views on the further
development of the school.
Many thanks also to Gorefield Bowls
Club for their generous donation of
£100 towards sports equipment for the
children as well as their invitation that
we will take up in the Summer term.
There are two big days next week.
On Wednesday, we’ll be joining in with
World Maths Day with the visit of
Leonardo of Pisa, otherwise known as
Fibonacci. The children will explore a
range of problem solving activities
throughout the day.
On Friday, it is World Book Day and
the day will be themed around the
book ‘Peace at Last’. It is also a ‘dress
up as a character’ day, so we expect to
see many bears, based on the
characters from the books!
Finally, our congratulations to Miss Meenehan, who is expecting her first baby in
May. Miss Meenehan will continue to work with Owls class until the end of this
term, when Mrs Templeman, who has already worked with Owls class, will join us
on a full time basis. Miss Meenehan will be missed by all of us. We wish her well in
her new adventure, and hope to that she will visit with her new baby just as
Mrs Lambert has done so we can all share a little of the joy.
