Speech Title: Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)
Abstract. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are systems to help driver to drive vehicle
more safely than existing scenarios. These systems are designed with Human Machine Interface
(HMI) to increase vehicle driver and road safety. This leads to less number of road accidents.
ADAS systems are developed to automate vehicle systems for better driving followed by safety.
These features are designed to avoid collisions and accidents by offering technologies which alerts
driver about potential problem well in advance. These features include Lane Departure Warning
(LDW), Vehicle Detection (VD), Pedestrian Detection (PD), Traffic Sign Detection (TSD), Road
Sign Detection (RSD), Traffic Light Detection (TLR), Around View Monitoring (AVM), and
Driver Alertness System (DAM). ADAS features are built into car or available as an add-on
package. These systems process the inputs captured by cameras, radars, LiDARs around the vehicle.
ADAS application outputs are responsible to increase vehicle driver and road safety
Dr. Amol R. Madane has completed Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) under the guidance of Dr.
Uttam D. Kolekar in Image/ Video Security area in Jan 2015. He holds Masters of Engineering
degree in Electronics Engineering from Mumbai University, India. He is an associate of Tata
Consultancy Services Ltd. from last 9+ years. His main area of research is Image Watermarking,
Object Detection and Tracking, Body Segmentation and Pose Estimation, Activity Recognition,
Semantic Interpretation, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). He has published research
papers in international journals, conference. He has published technical book on “Design and
Performance Evaluation of Image Encoders in View of 4G Applications” by Lulu book publishers,
Raleigh, NC 27607, United States. He is working as Editorial Board Member, Reviewer of various
international and national journals, conferences etc. He is member of professional institutes such as
IEEE, IETE, ISTE, IEI, ISTD, CSI, ACM etc.

Speech Title: Challenges and Opportunities in Business Big Data Analysis
Abstract. We are awash in a flood of data today. In a broad range of application areas, data is being
collected at unprecedented scale. Big data analysis has become a popular field in the research of
economic and management engineering. Big data analysis now drives nearly every aspect of our
modern society, including mobile services, retail, manufacturing, financial services, life sciences,
and physical sciences. We benefit from big data analysis to make customized services, target
marketing, and profitable trading. However, the heterogeneity, scale, complexity, and privacy
problems with big data impede progress at all phases of the pipeline that can create value from data.
This presentation will introduce basic and advanced techniques in handling business big data ranging
from data mining methods to artificial intelligence. Most importantly, we will introduce the
challenges and opportunities in business big data analysis. The presentation will cover the recent
advances in dealing with the challenges including the nonlinear manifold learning, the sparse coding,
deep learning, GPGPU CUDA computing, and the cloud computing. Finally, potential applications
of big data analysis will also be covered in the presentation.
Prof.Shian-Chang Huang received his MS degree in electric engineering from National Tsing Hwa
University, Taiwan, and his PhD degree in financial engineering from National Taiwan University.
He jointed National Changhua University of Education in 2005, and currently is a distinguished
professor at the Department of Business Administration. Huang has published over 60 peer-reviewed
papers. About half of these papers are published in SCI/SSCI index journals. He is also the reviewer
of over twenty SCI/SSCI journals, and technical program committee member of many international
conferences.His research fields are Big Data Analysis, Data Mining, Soft Computing, Machine
Learning,Computer Science, Econometrics, Financial Engineering.
