Dear Murray State University Organization,
As the executive director of the Ms. MSU Pageant, it is my pleasure to invite you to nominate
four people (4) to represent your organization as preliminary nominees. From this group, fifteen
will be selected to vie for the title of Ms. MSU 2017.
Each nominee must be a student, must pay activity fees to the university, and must have and
maintain an overall GPA of 3.00. Additionally, they must plan to attend Murray State University
as a student the entire school year following the pageant.
There will be a mandatory meeting for all applicants on November 14, 2016 at 4:30 p.m. in the
CSI Office; if the applicant is unable to attend they may send a designed representative. Each
nominee will then be invited to an interview which will be held on November 21, 2016. Through
the interview process a panel of judges will choose 15 contestants and 2 alternates to participate
in the pageant on April 9, 2016. If your nominee is chosen as a contestant, your organization will
be asked to pay a $50 entry fee.
The Ms. Murray State University Pageant is a cherished tradition on our campus. I ask that you
choose your nominees carefully, as each should exemplify the characteristics of a model student
and an upstanding young person. They should be able to represent your organization as well as
the university with respect and dignity.
Please have your nominees fill out the accompanying application and return it to the CSI office
by November 14, 2016 at 4:00pm. If you have any questions, I can be reached via email at
