By evaporation: ◦ At oven at 150 C. UNSUCCESSFUL!!! By Centrifuge: ◦ Media was centrifuge for 5 – 10 min. Too time consuming!! But SUCCESSFUL!!! Set up 8 or 10 bottles, (duplicates) Monitor pH in the bottles and adjust CO2 accordingly.---Will need flowmeters for better control of flowrate into each bottle. Control light, using Li-Cor PAR sensor. Monitor temperature. Will use one bottle for growth rate measurement, while leaving one undisturbed. Possibly use 2 different media for the Dunaliella algae. (Erdschreiber's Medium, F/2 medium), and for the BB. Dry Algae Homogenize with mortar and pestle in nhexane. Let sit for 10 min. Centrifuge at 5000rpm for 10 min. Repeat. Use the Dryer and Bligh method as well, ( methanol, chloroform, water mixture). Compare. Analyze oil.
