PRISMATIC FIXED ROOFLIGHTS

Rooflight.
• Material: Triple glazed polycarbonate; UV resistant & impact resistant
Type: Rectangular.
• Perimeter Frame: Extruded aluminium.
- Finish: Mill finish.
- Colour: Natural.
- Detailing: Integral condensation & weepage gutters drained to outside; Integrated thermal break; butyl seal
bedding for glazing
• Kerb: Insulated pressed metal roof kerb installed by roofing sub-contractor; U-value of kerb max. 1.5W/m²K;
Proprietary kerb frame supplied by rooflight manufacturer or site built kerb installed to suit rooflight fixing
requirements; Min. height of kerb to suit roof insulation depth at each opening with minimum upstand of 150mm
above roof finish.
• Glazing details:
Outer layer: UV stable Polycarbonate with climate control additive.
Intermediate layer options: Diffused nano or standard prismatic clear polycarbonate.
Internal layer: Clear polycarbonate.
• Visible light transmission: 81%.
• Solar heat gain coefficient (g-value): 0.45.
• 100% light diffusion
• Thermal performance (U-value maximum): 2.2 W/m²K.
• Air permeability: less than 3.0 m³/h/m² at a test pressure of 50 Pa.
• Fire performance: - polycarbonate materials achieves a classification of B-s1,d0 when tested to EN 13501-1:
2007 fully and in accordance with UK Building Regulations, Part B 2006 can be regarded as having National
Class AA and Euro Class BROOF(t4) designation.
Non-Fragility to ACR [M]001: 2014 Class A and Non-Fragility to BS EN 1873:2014 Class SB1200 when installed
as per Kingspan details.
• Other requirements:
- Anti-condensation design;
- Size and spacing of rooflights to suit manufacturer's daylight calculations and to suit structural steelwork
layout;
- Galvanised and white PPC coated wire mesh Safety-Security Screen to be installed to top edge of roof kerb
opening to achieve a Class B non-fragile roof assembly classification; 3.0mm dia. high tensile 500 N/mm² wire
at 75mm centres forming a welded square mesh; fixed to metal kerbs at max 300mm centres in accordance
with manufacturer's recommendations; tested to withstand the impact of a 50kg weight, 400mm in diameter,
dropped from a height of 2400mm:
-Safety: Mesh classified non-fragile Class B in accordance with ACR [M] 001: 2014 to BS EN 1873:2014 Class
SB1200, when installed as per Kingspan details.
- Internal closure flashings or trimmers to roof opening to be installed flush with rooflight kerb;

 Fixing: On to roof kerb with stainless steel fixings 5.5x35-S12 supplied by Kingspan or equivalent.
 Other requirements:
- Manufactured under the following ISO standards: ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental) and OHSAS
18001 (Health & Safety).
- Installer/cladding contractor to attend a product training course at Kingspan Insulated Panels.
