The extraordinary weather we’ve experienced in recent months has made this one of the most trying years for harvest, cultivations and drilling in recent memory. It serves as a reminder of the fundamental importance of plant science in ensuring farmers can continue to produce crops and contribute to food security in the face of the severe challenges with which nature sometimes confronts us.” “The CPA plays a crucial role in communicating clearly with the public, media and policy makers about the importance of plant science and crop protection. I look forward to leading it in its work in the years ahead, drawing on the wealth of experience and expertise within the industry, to promote the vital contribution it makes in providing a safe and reliable supply of food in the UK, as well as the wider benefits of plant protection products.” ENDS For further information please contact: Contact: Wendy Gray, Communications Manager, CPA T: 01733 355374 M: 07590 745695 E: [email protected] W: www.cropprotection.org.uk Issued by: Daniel Pearsall, Front Foot Communications T: 01487 831425 E: [email protected] The Crop Protection Association (CPA) is a key voice of the UK Plant Science Industry.
