Privacy Policy for Park and Ride and Accessible Transport Services
(Commonwealth Games)
In this privacy policy “we”, “us”, “our” and “Glasgow 2014” means Glasgow 2014 Limited a
company established under the Companies Acts (No. SC325245) as the organising
committee to plan and deliver the XX Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and Scotland (the
“Games”) and having its registered office at Commonwealth House, 32 Albion Street,
Glasgow, G1 1LH, and “you” and “your” refers to the person applying for, and/or receiving
tickets permitting the right to use booked parking for vehicles operated or used by you (your
“vehicle”) at the various park and ride and parking facilities operated by us or on our behalf
(the “facilities”) and/or certain shuttle bus services and accessible transport services (the
“bus services”) referred to herein as “bookings” in relation to the XX Commonwealth Games
(the “Games”).
Glasgow 2014 is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.
This policy (together with our Data Protection Statement, Park and Ride and Accessible
Transport Terms and Conditions and any other documents referred to in this policy) sets out
the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, in
relation to the purchase and use of tickets for facilities and bus services and will be held,
processed and/or disclosed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our
views and practices regarding this personal data and how we will treat it.
By applying to make a booking to use the facilities and bus services with us for the Games,
you are bound by this policy.
For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the “Act”) we are the data controller.

PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED FROM YOU
1.1 We will collect and process the following personal data:

1.1.7 details of your visits to the website located at glasgow2014.com (the
“website”) including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs
and other communication data, and information concerning the resources
that you access;
1.1.8 Information contained within telephone calls relating to tickets, which may be
recorded for quality control and training purposes;
1.1.9 Information derived from our security processes and facilities, such as CCTV
and other security apparatus at facilities and Games venues; and
1.1.10 Information provided by you or in respect of you to staff at facilities.

This section only applies where you visit the website, and you consent to the use of
cookie files on the website.

Cookie files (small files of letters and numbers that we store on your computer or other
access device) will be placed on your computer or other access device each time
you log in to the website, for the purposes of maintaining your log in status and to

WHERE WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

The personal data that we or TicketSOUP collect from you may be transferred to,
and/or stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may
also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA, who are employed by a party
with whom we or TicketSOUP, as the case may be, have entered into a contract
relating to the Games and/or the processing of Games related information. By
submitting your personal data and sensitive personal data, you explicitly consent to
this transfer, storing and/or processing of your personal data and sensitive personal
data by such third parties. We or TicketSOUP, as the case may be, will take steps to
ensure that your personal data and sensitive personal data are treated securely and
in accordance with standards similar to those set out in this privacy policy when
transferred to such parties.

SECURITY

Unfortunately, the transmission and/or provision of information via post, the Internet or
other means of telecommunications is not completely secure. Although we will take
steps to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your
personal data whilst being transmitted and/or provided to us. Any transmission and
provision is at your own risk. Once we have received your personal data, we will use
procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access to, destruction
of, or damage to such personal data.

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables
you to access certain parts of the website, you are responsible for keeping this
password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone. Similarly, if
we have passed to you unique information, such as booking codes and such like,
please keep this secret to reduce the risk of fraud.

enabling the proper management of our business, and review of the
operation of the Games;
to allow us to consider your comments, queries and suggestions and respond,

DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA

We may disclose personal data to third parties:

to enable the management and provision of the Games, including
requirements of transport, accessibility, access and security concerning
sessions;to protect the rights, property and security of others (this includes
exchanging information with other organisations for the purposes of fraud
protection and credit or security risk reduction);to enable enforcement of our
legal rights;
6.1.4 to enable enforcement of the Park and Ride and Accessible Transport Terms
and Conditions;
6.1.5 to enable the allocation, sale, refund and/or transfer of tickets;
6.1.6 to enable the proper maintenance and/or operation of the website, any
physical ticket sale facilities, and any ticket sale facilities provided by
telephone;
6.1.7 to enable notification to you about matters relating to the Games, including
matters relating to the timing of Games sessions, facilities and bus services;
6.1.8 to develop statistical and analytical information in relation to the park and
ride and accessible transport ticket sales of the Games and operation of the
Games for the purposes of review of the impact and effect of the Games in
Scotland;
6.1.9 where you have agreed that we may share your personal data with third
parties whether before, during or after the conclusion of the Games;
6.1.10 if we or substantially all of our assets are acquired by a third party, in which
case personal data of which we are the data controller in terms of the Act will
be one of the transferred assets; or

with any legal obligation.

other electronic messaging service for the following purposes, where you have
agreed to being contacted by them for these purposes:

with updates on Games progress and any other alerts relating to the Games;
and/or
8.1.3
to survey you in relation to the Games, your perception of the Games and
your experiences connected the Games.
8.2
We may allow organisations working with us to use your information to send you
marketing and research oriented communications relating to the Games.
8.3
You will be provided with an opportunity to opt out from continuing to receive these
communications when you receive these communications.

For the purposes of paragraph 7 and this paragraph 9, organisations working with us
include the Commonwealth Games Federation, Scottish Government, Glasgow City
Council, Commonwealth Games Associations, Transport Scotland Scottish
Government Strathclyde Partnership Transport, FirstGroup, Glasgow Disability Alliance,
Police Scotland, Mobility Access Committee for Scotland, UNICEF, Visit Scotland and
ticketSOUP.
9.
RETENTION OF INFORMATION
We, ticketSOUP and the third parties and entities mentioned above may keep
personal data (including sensitive personal data) which we collect for a reasonable
period for any of the purposes mentioned above.

MARKETING – YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes.
You can exercise your right to prevent such processing in the manner indicated on
the forms we use to collect your personal data. You can also exercise the right at any

THIRD PARTY PERSONAL DATA
11.1
Where you submit personal data regarding another person, you confirm that they
have consented to you acting for them and to the processing of their personal data,
and that you have informed them of our identity and the content of the Park and
Ride and Accessible Transport Terms and Conditions and this policy, including the
purposes for which their personal data will be processed by us, and/or disclosed by
us, and that they have explicitly consented to our use, processing and disclosure of
their personal data (including sensitive personal data).
11.2
The Park and Ride and Accessible Transport Terms and Conditions and this policy will
apply to any such third party personal data in the same manner that they apply to
your own personal data.

ACCESS TO PERSONAL DATA
The Act gives you the right to access personal data that we hold on you. Your right of
access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be
subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the personal
data we hold about you.
13.
CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY
Any changes we may make to our privacy policy in the future will be posted on this
page and, where we are legally required to do so, you will be notified using the email
address set out on the ticket application form relating to you or to the ticket you hold.
