PBIS at Indian Trail is a school wide initiative allowing us to be on the same page with regards to discipline and student behavior. We will use a continuum of positive supports for all students in all areas – classroom and non-classroom settings. 2 Goals Teach all students the behaviors we expect. Provide a safe environment where students achieve academically and socially. Increase academic achievement through consistent behavioral expectations. Encourage positive behaviors and interactions. Decrease problem behaviors. Your child is responsible for their own tickets, this is part of the behavioral expectation “be responsible.” How can my child earn a ticket? By following the behavioral expectations, your child may receive a ticket/PAW from any staff member at any time. Tickets will be disseminated What can I do as a parent to support PBIS? 1. Please remind your child daily of your expectations to follow the behavioral expectations. 2. Keep the matrix visibly posted in your home. 3. If your child is having difficulty following the expectations, use the matrix as a tool to review and practice the behavioral expectations. What are the quarterly celebrations? School wide assemblies, including PBIS Kick-Off, in which all students participate. 7
