Riversides is delighted to be a Magic Breakfast Partner School.
Magic Breakfast is an award winning small charity with the aim of offering every child access to a
healthy breakfast so that no-one starts the day too hungry to learn.
At Riversides we start the day with a communal breakfast at Thorneloe Road and class breakfasts at
RSS. Pupils are offered bagels, cereal, orange juice and even porridge. We have a settling in period
over breakfast when people have a chance for some food and a chat. This is particularly useful as
pupils come in by taxi and minibus at different times.
The Magic Breakfast charity has, as well as providing free breakfast food, given us a grant to help set
up breakfasts. We have used this money to buy a chest freezer, bowls, mugs, toasters and a range of
card games which encourage social interaction. Thank you Magic Breakfast.
