Friends of the Arts (FOTA) Board Positions FOTA Chair—Oversees all FOTA events and functions. Works closely with Fine Arts department heads and the PA Executive Board to set the event calendar and budget for the year. The chair schedules and facilitates monthly board meetings as well as assists FOTA board members with individual event planning and questions. Secretary—Records minutes from each FOTA board meeting. Assists FOTA Chair with meeting reminders and communications. Treasurer—Works with committees on budget issues and Parents’ Association reimbursement procedures. Must attend monthly FOTA meetings. Fall Coffee Chair—Plans and coordinates refreshments, volunteers, décor, and plant operations assistance for the event. Must attend monthly FOTA meetings. Spring Art Reception Chair—Plans and coordinates refreshments, volunteers, theme, and plant operations assistance for the event. Must attend monthly FOTA meetings. Lower School Fine Arts Representative—Manages a volunteer committee that assists the LS Fine Arts department with displaying student art on campus. This is usually done during the school day and coordinates with events in the Gorelick Family Theater. This position also reports FOTA and LS Fine Arts news to the Lower School PA Board. Must attend monthly FOTA and LS board meetings. Lower School Drama Representative—Manages and organizes volunteers to work behind the scenes in LS drama, especially fourth-grade plays. This position coordinates with LS Drama faculty to plan for the needed volunteer assistance. Must attend monthly FOTA meetings. Middle School Fine Arts Representative: Provides a variety of support to MS Fine Arts faculty including hanging and removal of student art, planning of refreshments and décor for MS Winter and Spring Concerts, and assisting with MS drama as needed. This position also reports FOTA and MS Fine Arts news to the MS PA Board. Must attend monthly FOTA and MS board meetings. Middle School Fine Arts Representative—Attend monthly FOTA board meetings and MS PA board meetings as the FOTA Rep. Assist in having art hung up and removed on designated dates at both the MS and Gorelick theater. Help to organize food and décor for the MS winter and spring concerts. Assist with MS Drama as needed. Upper School Visual Arts Representative—Organizes volunteers to assist with planning and execution of projects such as: the Italy Arts reception, visiting artist receptions, IB/AP Art student reception, and the annual Soup Bowls for Hospice event. Must attend monthly FOTA meetings. Upper School Drama Representative—Organizes and guides volunteers as needed for assistance with US One Act Plays, musicals, and drama performances. Duties may include planning opening night receptions, ticket sales, or back stage assistance. This position also reports FOTA and US Fine Arts news to the US PA board. Must attend monthly FOTA and US board meetings. Upper School Music Representative—Plans US band Halloween party as well as receptions for the US Winter and Spring Concerts. Also assists with fitting of choir gowns and tuxedos. Must attend monthly FOTA meetings.
