ECA 2016-2017 season (updated October 2016) Rule 5 (40 Overs): One Day Game Playing Conditions Delayed start between 12.31pm – 2.00pm 12.30pm start (No delay) Team A bats for 40 overs unless All Out or Declares 20 minute break Team B bats until: They pass Team A Or They are All Out Or They have had all their 40 overs but have not passed Team A Game can go past 6pm if conditions permit. Calculate revised number of overs per team based on revised starting time (table below) Game follows the rules for a 12.30pm start but with the revised number of overs instead of 40 overs. (see table below) If the game begins before 2pm, what happens if adverse weather delays play after the game has begun? Delay less than 60 mins No change to agreed number of overs. Game can go past 6pm if conditions permit. LOC 4 and below: batters to retire when 50 runs Maximum number of overs for a bowler is 8. A part over counts as a full over. Delay more than 60 mins No change to agreed number of overs. Game cannot go past 6pm. Game is a draw unless: B has passed A’s score: Or B is dismissed: Or B has faced all of its overs Delayed start after 2.00pm NO re-calculation of overs.
