Emergency Drills and Evacuations
Conversation
• There is absolutely
no talking during
emergency drills
• Do not talk when
you are walking to
the evacuation area
• Do not talk when
you are sitting in
the evacuation area
Help
• If you need help
during an
emergency drill,
raise your hand
• I only answer
questions when
students raise
their hands quietly
Activity
During emergency drills you:
– Remain in the classroom until
the teacher gives you
directions to leave
– Line up outside the classroom
quietly in two straight lines
– Wait for the teacher to lead
you to the evacuation area
– When you get to the
evacuation area, you must sit
down in your two lines
– Never sit up against the
fence
– You must sit on the asphaltbe prepared to do so
Movement
• During emergency
drills, you will be
directed to walk to
the evacuation area in
two straight lines
• When you arrive at
the evacuation area,
you will remain seated
until you are told to
return to class
Participation
You are meeting my
expectations if you
are:
• Walking quietly to and
from the evacuation
area in two straight
lines
• Sitting quietly in the
evacuation area
• Following all directions
immediately
Participation
• You are not meeting my
expectations if you:
– Talk
– Walk too slowly or too
quickly on your way to
or from the evacuation
site
– Refuse to sit down
when you arrive at the
evacuation site
– Chew gum
