President ● ● ● ● Leadership: Serve as the face of Southern NCSY, with willingness to speak and share with others the successes of the organization; Lead by example to develop a forward-thinking, united, growth-oriented regional board; Participates in all reg bo projects and initiatives Functions: Ensure the functions of ALL OTHER members are being fulfilled; Make sure core members are signed up for conventions; Oversee regional and/or local board calendars handy at all times; Coordinate board meetings & shabbatons (including setting time, location & agenda); Coordinates reg bo jobs and roles at shabbatons Outreach: Identifies 1st time Shabbaton participants, creates ways to make them feel welcomed and involved; Make sure that everyone (especially new and quiet participants) is comfortable and involved at all programs (especially shabbatons). Development as needed in conjunction with Director of Institutional Advancement. 2. Vice President ● Leadership: Serve as a representative of Southern NCSY, with willingness to speak and share with others the successes of the organization; Lead by example to help develop a forward-thinking, united, growth-oriented regional board; Participates in all reg bo projects and initiatives ● Functions: Assists President in all functions, Liaison to Chapter Presidents, coordinates city programming, chapter-wide projects, develops initiatives to promote chapter unity at region-wide programming 3. VP South District ● Plan and execute 2 major social events a year for South Florida ● Invite all new participants to FB group. ● Promote programs via word of mouth, phone calls, text messaging, email, hanging flyers at local shuls, JCC, kosher restaurants, and Jewish establishments. ● Coordinate marketing efforts with VP Technology (for Facebook and website). 4. VP North District ● Assist in planning of mini-shabbatons, & FNL’s in north district communities ● Connect with potential teen leaders in small towns where NCSY doesn’t yet exist. ● Invite all new participants to FB group. ● Promote programs via word of mouth, phone calls, text messaging, email, hanging flyers at local shuls, JCC, kosher restaurants, and Jewish establishments. ● Coordinate marketing efforts with VP Technology (for Facebook and website). 5. VP RE (Reality Expansion = Education) ● Coordinate weekly dvar Torah and forward to VP Technology to be sent out before shabbos along with upcoming programs, etc. ● Coordinate divrei Torah for shabbatons (one per meal with equal representation from yeshiva day school and public school and different chapters.) ● Coordinate 1-2 divrei Torah for chapter onegs. ● Develop a region-wide educational project or initiative ● Oversee Regional Tehillim Project 6. VP Summer Programs ● ● ● ● ● ● Promote NCSY summer programs. Create suggested summer programs participant list (which teens should go on what program). Help coordinate all aspects of summer program themed weekends. Coordinate one speaker for each shabbos meal at shabbatons to talk about the summer program they went on (have at least one TJJ speaker at each shabbaton). Make a promotional video/slideshow including pictures of NCSY'ers from our region to be shown at Fall/Winter shabbaton. Assist in planning of summer reunions 7. VP Technology ● Send weekly Facebook messages of (1) upcoming events from VP Programming, (2) shabbos greetings from President, VPR, or President, (3) divrei Torah from VP RE ● Add pictures (from VPR) to website and Facebook group. ● Add upcoming events to website and Facebook group. ● Add birthdays to website and Facebook group. ● Add divrei Torah to website (from VP RE and VP Alumni Relations) ● Make sure video conference call technologies work! 8. VP Juniors ● ● ● ● Plan and execute three junior events a year. Attend Jr Shabbatons. Announce upcoming events at local synagogues (that welcome NCSY) that have Jr Congregations. Call five juniors every erev shabbos. 9. VP Chessed/Yachad Liaison ● Coordinate community service program at shabbatons when possible. ● Coordinate community service events throughout the year. Special attention should be paid to how there can be a chessed component to regular chapter/regional programs. ● Mobilize the region if the need arises locally. ● Work with Yachad to recruit participants to NCSY Shabbatons ● Work with Yachad to recruit teens from their programs to shabbatons ● Encourage NCSYers to participate in Yachad events and shabbatons ● Keep NCSY updated with Yachad calendar of events and vice versa. ● Work with community organizations for volunteering opportunities 10. VP Fundraising ● Responsible for developing fundraisers (examples: Purim cards, Shavuos Learn-a-thon, tzedaka boxes, Field Day with Special Needs Kids - cost is $10. Money goes to NCSY) with Director of Institutional Advancement ● Identify potential sponsors or donors. ● Research and recommend possible funding sources, such as grants, foundations, contests, etc. 11. VP JSU ● Keep up to date on all happenings in local JSU / JSC clubs (successful programming, frequency of events, external events, etc. ● Maintain calendar of all JSU / JSC events and share with fellow NCSYers ● Identify and maximize opportunities for joint programming with NCSY and other youth groups in South Florida, including JSU / JSC ● Coordinate recruitment effortsin JSU / JSC clubs ● Primary contact for Hahn shabbaton ● Work with all JSU / JSC Presidents and officers to grow clubs in attendace, frequency and quality of programming. 12. VP Israel Action ● Design events for shabbatons and beyond that encourage advocacy or chessed projects for Israel ● Keep NCSYers informed of Israel Action events throughout the community ● Keep NCSYers informed of news going on in Israel and globally that pertain to Israel. ● Organize letter writing campaigns when necessary or other immediate action campaigns. 13. VP Public Relations ● Oversee collection of content for Southern NCSY website ● Take pictures and create videos at all events. ● Get contact info for any new people that come to events to be added to ● ● Database. Make short recruitment Youtube videos for shabbatons or local events. Make end of the year highlights video/slideshow. 14. VP Programming ● Work with staff to select and program for theme for shabbatons ● Coordinate Regbo contributions to the theme ● oversee Regbo skit, in conjunction with President ● Identify and recommend saturday night and sunday activities for shabbatons
