Chick Starter also contains a coccidiostat
to further assist in the treatment of
coccidiosis in young chicks.
Feeding Recommendation
Suitable for all breeds of domestic and
commercial layer and broiler breeder
chicks.
Feed ad-lib from day old until 6 or 8
weeks of age. Ensure access to fresh,
clean water at all times.

Please ensure product is stored in a
cool, dry and vermin free environment.
Selected from: Grain and grain
by-products, various plant proteins,
food by-products, minerals, vegetable
oils, animal fats, enzymes, amino
acids,vitamins, trace minerals,
mould inhibitor and Bovatec® 20CC.

Contains lasalocid sodium at 100g/tn of feed
(or100mg/kg of feed).
Indications: As an aid in the prevention of
Coccidiosis caused by Eimeria species in
chickens, turkeys, and replacement layer and
breeder pullets on deep litter or range.
Contraindications: Discontinue use 14 DAYS
before egg lay commences. Care must be
exercised when feeding concurrently with
other antimicrobials. Ensure recommended
doses are not exceeded.

Broilers and Replacement Pullets:
Meat: Nil, Eggs: Eggs from treated birds must
not be sold for human consumption for 14
days following the last treatment

Oregano in Poultry Diets
NRM Chick Starter, Pullet Grower
and Peck’n’Lay poultry feeds contain
oregano essential oils to naturally aid
in protecting against gut pathogens,
including salmonella and coccidia.
The anti-bacterial and anti-protozoal
effects of essential oils have been
studied intensively over the last 10 years
as consumers have demanded more
natural compounds to control intestinal
micro-organisms in poultry.
Research has found that the active
compounds derived from the oregano
herb have proven very effective against
a wide array of poultry pathogens,
including bacteria, fungi and coccidia.
The most active essential components
in oregano are carvacrol and thymol.
These products are collectively known
as phenols and work by altering the
permeability of the cell membrane of
intestinal microorganisms, resulting
in water imbalance and cell death.
Research has shown these phenols
to be effective in inhibiting salmonella,
escherichia coli, and clostridium species.
Due to this unique mode of action,
these micro-organisms cannot develop
resistance to phenols.
In addition, research from the USA
has shown that these phenols are as
effective as ionophores (cocciodiostats)
in preventing the intestinal poultry disease
called coccidiosis. These phenols also
improve appetite in poultry by activating
enzymes, resulting in better feed
utilisation and improved performance.
