Directions from Bristol city to Link Cottage, Link Lane, Burrington, BS40 7AU
We live near the A38, south-west of Bristol
Airport.
1. Get to the airport, either via Cumberland
Basin, A370, B3130 (through Barrow
Gurney) and the A38, or all the way from
Bristol city centre on the A38.
2. There are roundabouts before and after
the airport; continue on the A38 both
times.
3. 3.2 miles after the second roundabout, at
the top of a small rise, turn left into a
minor road signposted 'Burrington, 1 ¼'
(point A on the map)
4. Continue for about 1 mile, ignoring two
very minor roads on the left until you
meet a more important road at a bend in
that road. This is the A368, but is
unmarked at this point. Turn right here
(point B).
5. After 0.3 mile, turn left at the second
turning on the left, marked 'Burrington
Combe, B3134' (point C). Do not take
the first turn, to Burrington village.
6. Continue for another 0.3 mile, then take
the first turn on the right, a sharp turn
into a very narrow lane, marked ‘Link
Lane’ (point D).
7. Go up the hill, round a sharp corner, and
on up. We are the 3rd house on the left
(point E). There is parking space just
opposite, but there is also a car park
across the road down the hill at point D –
so if you don’t mind walking up the lane,
you’ll avoid having to drive up the narrow
lane and avoid congestion at our house.
(If you miss the turning at point A, you will
come a few miles later to traffic lights where
the A368 meets the A38. Just turn left here,
and you will reach point C from the opposite
direction.)
