The Arctic Rose Fund

The Arctic Rose Fund
“Not all of us can do great things but we can do small things with Great Love”
Mother Theresa
It has become more apparent that many families living in Northern Canada
live in a constant state of food crisis. Considering all the statistics regarding the
social/economic conditions of these regions, we forget that the basic
necessities such as housing rental costs (or mortgage payments), electrical bills,
groceries etc. are a great burden to many living in these Northern Regions..
Objective
The Objective of the Arctic Rose fund is to assist in alleviating some of this
stress by 1. Launching an annual Christmas food collection Campaign and 2.
Assisting in the set up of food banks in Northern Regions.
The Mission
In answer to the food crisis, The Arctic Rose Fund is being developed with the
mission of keeping the human spirit alive through the Christmas season by
helping supply dried foods and goods to Northern based food banks. The
Arctic Rose Fund is a volunteer program that will gather and collect, package
and mail dried foods and goods to pre-selected Northern based food banks.
The Arctic Rose Fund’s Feed A Northern Family Christmas Campaign
The Arctic Rose Fund will launch it’s Christmas campaign called The Arctic
Rose Christmas Campaign. For six weeks between November 4 and
December 20, the Arctic Rose fund will collect and purchase foods and goods
which will than be boxed and shipped to the Nunavut Food bank in Iqaluit.
*As part of it’s mandate The Arctic Rose Fund will be campaigning to open
Food Banks in all 5 Regions of Nunavut, the Arctic Rose Fund will assist in
