The MOMS Club of South Boston is proud to announce that “Southie Family Fun Day” will take place again
this year on Saturday, June 3, 2017. The MOMS Club with the support of the South Boston Community
Development Foundation and Department of Conservation “DCR” is thrilled to bring this awesome event
back to Marine Park. I am writing to you on behalf of the MOMS Club of South Boston, as we would
greatly appreciate your support. The MOMS Club of South Boston was founded in 2004 with 14 members
and is now over 250 strong. We are a non-profit and volunteer organization that is built around the
premise of Supporting MOMS in our South Boston community.
As you may recall, we have hosted Southie Family Fun Day since 2009 and each year this event reaches
more of the community and gets larger. We are hopeful that this year is no exception. As our clubs
largest event, we have considered Family Fun Day a huge success thanks to the families that attend and the
Participants and Sponsors who support us at our event.
One of the biggest challenges facing any community event is fundraising. As you can imagine, significant
preparation and funding is needed to make this event happen. A DJ is hired, inflatables are rented, a stage
secured, and family friendly entertainers are booked. While the MOMS Club provides the initial funding
for this event, we look to additional sponsorships and funding to ensure that the day is special for our
community and especially the children of all ages.
We are passionate about making South Boston a community where children and families feel free to
play, connect with each other and enjoy themselves. Southie Family Fun Day is a tradition that
embodies just that, please help us to make this year another huge success.
