Job title: Hidden Now Heard Volunteer Co-ordinator North Wales, (Home based) Job family: Communities Reports to: Project Manager, Hidden Now Heard Salary: £17,880 Pro rata (10 weeks) Hours: 4 per week Management of: Volunteers Overall purpose of post: The Hidden now Heard project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, is a three year project aimed at exposing the history of people with a learning disability during their time in long stay institutions. The project will work with partners and museums across Wales, providing an opportunity for a marginalised group in society to share their stories and experiences. Through a series of regional exhibitions and learning resources, the project will expose the root of society’s attitudes and challenge the misconceptions around learning disability. There will be a number of varied volunteer roles available throughout the lifetime of the project which the Co-ordinator will be responsible for promoting; Photographer, Researcher, Exhibition Assistant, Interpretation Assistant and others. The Co-ordinator will also be responsible for the recruitment and co-ordination of volunteers to help support the Hidden Now Heard project. The Co-ordinator will also identify and deliver relevant training and monitoring volunteer performance. They will be responsible for managing performance objectives and ensuring that strong employee engagement is delivered through effective leadership, management, communication and motivation. They will be accountable to ensure effective performance management, coaching and development is conducted across their team KPI’s: Co-ordinates and supports the work of their team volunteers to deliver the service objectives through effective performance management, feedback, coaching and development. Is committed to improving the team’s performance through contributing good ideas and solutions and helping their colleagues to do their job well. Workload Organiser June 2014 The Regional coordinator will take responsibility for the organising of their day to day activity and its effective delivery. They will need to balance planned and unplanned activity in line with agreed work priorities with their line manager. KPIs: Organises the work they need to do so they can complete all their jobs in the required amount of time Takes responsibility for the achievement of any key performance indicators or delivery of services and projects that they contribute to Discusses difficulties and challenges faced with their manager and finds positive solution to overcome these problems Demonstrates the ability to work with limited direct supervision and is self motivated in their work Measures: 360 feedback, Manager’s observations, achievement of objectives Manager of information The Regional coordinator will effectively maintain, collate and distribute information as required by the Organisation. They will produce reports as required and ensure this information is accurate and in an appropriate format for the audience it is distributed to. KPIs: Sources and collates reports and information as requested and within an agreed timescale. Maintains any central records and databases, ensuring that information is accurate and records are updated as required. Maintains and distributes any information in accordance with data protection legislation and Mencap policy requirements. Is proactive in chasing any information from a variety of stakeholders, whilst maintaining positive relationships with those stakeholders.
