A non-linear Power Point Design Principles ETEC 6307 by Kimberly Ramos Balance MENU Repetition Menu Emphasis contrast Unity Balance • Balance is the distribution of the visual weight of objects, colors, texture, and space. Balance Example 1 Balance Example 2 Balance Example 3 Back to MENU Balance 1 • I chose this photo as a representation of an asymmetrical balance design. The weight of the light colored rocks is balanced by the light colored clouds on the other 2/3 of the photo. Balance Example 1 Balance Example 2 Balance Example 3 Back to MENU Balance 2 • This radial balance photo is included to represent equal balance across a design with a central point of balance. Also, because I like the beauty and craftsmanship of stain glass. Balance Example 1 Balance Example 2 Balance Example 3 Back to MENU Balance 3 • This photo was chosen for the symmetrical balance. The weight of the objects are balanced by their color and symmetry. Balance Example 1 Balance Example 2 Balance Example 3 Back to MENU repetition • Repetition works with pattern to make the work of art seem active. The repetition of elements of design creates unity within the work of art. Repetitio n Example 1 Repetitio n Example 2 Repetitio n Example 3 Back to MENU repetition 1 • I chose this photo as a representation of repetitive color and shape, while the differences in size add to the uniformity and unity of the photo. Repetitio n Example 1 Repetitio n Example 2 Repetitio n Example 3 Back to MENU repetition 2 • This piece shows repetition of lines and color to project a sense of movement and unity. Contrast Example 1 Contrast Example 2 Contrast Example 3 Back to MENU Contrast 2 • This contrast photo is included to represent direction which shows movement through the art along with contrast in colors. Contrast Example 1 Contrast Example 2 Contrast Example 3 Back to MENU Contrast 3 • This photo was chosen for the use of contrast with light and dark elements and colors. This creates direction and intrigue within the picture. Contrast Example 1 Contrast Example 2 Contrast Example 3 Back to MENU unity • Unity is the feeling of harmony between all parts of the artwork creating a sense of completeness. The thing that brings the art together: sameness or oneness. Unity Example 1 Unity Example 2 Unity Example 3 Back to MENU Unity 1 • I chose this photo as a representation of unity due to the unity across the photo with the connection of the hands drawing themselves. It’s also one of my favorite artists, M.C. Escher.
