Homework
Complete four or five activities of your choice by Friday 7th July 2017.
1. Make a working volcano
model. You may wish to
use papier mache, mod
roc, card board or clay.
Make sure you insert a
plastic bottle for testing in
school.
2. Write a descriptive poem about
a volcanic eruption (this could
be an acrostic poem or a haiku).
4. Draw and label a world map to
show the location of the main
world volcanoes and
earthquakes.
5. Create a picture of an
erupting volcano. You could
use pastels, crayons, felt pens
or a medium of your choice.
7. Draw a picture of a large
bag with the emergency
items inside which you and
your family should take
with you if evacuated
during a volcanic eruption.
Explain why you would
need these items.
8. Use scrap materials to create
a cross-section of the Earth.

Create a board game called
‘Restless Earth’. This should
include a clear set of
instructions and everything you
need to play the game.
6. Create an illustrated fact file
about some natural disasters
around the world.
9. Write a story of the day a
volcano erupted e.g. Mount
Vesuvius in Pompeii.
