Procedure Manual Internet Access To Carrier Profile Report And Driver Licence Inquiry Version: May, 2010 Carrier Safety – Internet Access Procedures to access the Saskatchewan Based Carrier Profile System and Saskatchewan Auto Fund Driver Licence Inquiry System The procedures in this manual will assist the user to: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Learn how to ‘Login’ to the system Learn how to locate the Carrier Profile Report Learn how to locate and use the Driver Licence Inquiry Learn how to update and change your Password What to do if experiencing problems with access or using the Inquiry system How to Login to the System 1. Start your Internet Web Browser and enter the address listed below EXACTLY as shown into the address bar at the top of your screen. https://autofund.sgi.sk.ca After the location is keyed, press < ENTER >on the keyboard to access the site. NOTE: When using Internet Explorer you may be presented with a prompt 'Security Alert!' click on 'Yes' to proceed. This prompt indicates that all info passed to and from the SGI server is encrypted for security reasons. Once successfully connected to SGI, the new combined Conditions of Use “I Agree” and Username and Password login window will appear. 2 All users and their security permissions are identified by a user id. The login is case sensitive and must be in lowercase (no capitalization). When the user FIRST LOGS IN they will be provided a password. This password will expire upon initial login to the system and they will be prompted through screens to assist them to assign a new secure password. (See section below on How to Update and Change Your Password.) Once the Login page has been successful, the MVD Menu on the upper left corner of the window will then be displayed. (See below.) How to Locate the Carrier Profile Report 2. Press the menu button to show the drop-down of the Inquiry functions that are available for your user id security permissions. The following selections should display: 3 Click on “My Carrier Profile Report” and your Carrier Profile report will be produced. The report displayed will be dated as at the last SGI batch run date. The batch is updated monthly and will be reporting information as at the end of the month for the last SGI batch run date. Once in the Report, the carrier can print the report in order to view the information or they can scroll up and down the pages using the scroll bar on the right-hand side of the screen. The report is viewed using Acrobat. How to Locate and Use the Driver Licence Inquiry 3. From the Menu selection move your cursor to Driver and the arrow will display a selection called “Current Licence Status”. Click on “Current Licence Status”. The following window will display: This screen will allow users to check for valid Drivers Licences. A total of 100 Driver Licence numbers can be entered into the window at one time to allow the user to view many licence numbers at once. The user MUST enter one driver number at a time followed by a comma until they have entered all the driver numbers 4 they wish to view. The information provided regarding the drivers licence will report if the current licence the driver is holding is valid at the time of the inquiry. Yes response means that the driver is currently holding a valid driver’s licence. A valid licence can be held in any class. Valid licenses include: Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, Class 4, Class 5, Class 6, and Class 7. If a driver is holding a restricted licence, it will advise the user of this type of licence. If a driver is holding a Class for operation of a school bus, it will provide what endorsements the driver may hold. If any further information is required regarding a driver’s licence, the carrier must contact the driver OR request an updated Driver/Commercial Driver Abstract. How to Update and Change Your Password 4. As noted in #1 above, when the user logs into the system for the first time, their password will expire and the user will be prompted through screens to assign a new secure password. The following screens should appear in sequence to assist the user to assign a new password. 5 Once the user has completed this process, they will have to log in to the system again. PLEASE NOTE: The user WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE THEIR PASSWORD AGAIN without calling into our office. The ‘Did you forget your password’ on the log in screen WILL NOT WORK FOR EXTERNAL USERS. Therefore each time you need to assign a new password or you have forgotten your password you will need to call our SGI Help Desk at: 1-866-526-2220 in Regina What to do if Experiencing Problems with Access or Using the Inquiry system Session Time Out After 30 minutes of inactivity in the Auto Fund Inquiry Systems, the connection to the SGI database will be terminated. On your next touch of any key or clicking the mouse, you will be immediately presented with the appropriate login page. On re-entering your user id and password, your connection to the SGI Inquiry application will be activated but it is not possible to revert your session back to the inquiry that was displayed when the time out occurred. As the Auto Fund Inquiry System contains significant personal information for all our customers, you are encouraged to always click on the 'Logout' button whenever you leave your computer. As a minimum precaution, the automatic time out does mitigate the risk of open sessions being misused. Note that this is a mandatory requirement from SGI’s Chief Privacy Officer.
