Letter to Sponsors

We invite you to take this opportunity to be a sponsor of the third annual
Canfax Cattle Market Forum
Dear Industry Leader,
Let me take a moment to introduce you to the third annual Canfax Cattle Market Forum and explain
why you should be a sponsor of this program.
First let me tell you a bit about Canfax. Canfax is a non-profit organization and is a division of Canadian
Cattlemen’s Association. For over forty years, Canfax has provided expert analysis of markets and trends
in the ever changing North American beef industry. Canfax funds itself through membership and other
market information services. Canfax does not receive check-off dollars or government money.
Over the last two years Canfax has held the Cattle Market Forum each one being a great success
answering the demand for up-to-date, independent, unbiased market information.
What can we offer industry stakeholders?
Producers and packers: Canfax collects data from a variety of sources to provide market information
that many industry members use to base their prices from. We monitor and provide updates on market
basis levels, trade, inventories, etc. which producers use when making management decision. Canfax also
creates Showlist and cattle on feed reports to provide industry members with marketing volumes.
Bankers, accountants, consultants and feed companies: Canfax pricing information is used on client
financial statements and assists banks with lending rates on breeding and feeder cattle. When clients need
advice, Canfax provides the industry with current market updates, feed costs and provides profitability
benchmarks for feedlot and cow-calf operators to measure the relative health of different sectors of
primary production.
Government: Canfax prices are used in government databases for tracking historical prices in
government programs such as AgriStability and in verifying government reports.

Wholesalers and retailers: Canfax provides weekly prices on boxed beef prices and primal cuts that
industry can use to assess markets. We provide easy-to-use information about beef markets and the
overall supply and demand for cattle. Canfax works with the Canadian Beef Grading Agency and
distributes slaughter and grading information.
We ask for your support in sponsoring this event to bring pertinent up-to-date
information and global perspective to all levels of our cattle industry.
Our goal is to have those people who work within the cattle industry and are in need of critical data and
information attend the forum. We estimate that the top leaders and influencers (approximately the top 12% of each of the industry categories) will attend this conference in each of the following categories:
producers/ranchers, feedlot and backgrounders, feed companies, bankers, consultants, accountants,
processors, wholesalers, food retail, industry stakeholders, and government.
Join Canfax, to make the 2014 Canfax Forum a success.
We know that you will find it a rewarding experience. The past years’ evaluations have scored top marks
for quality of speaker and information. Join us to hear the latest news and a clear update of the market.
