Monthly Summary
DESNARING SUMMARY- DUMA/ MAMBA TEAMS. MAY 2013
Work began as usual at the beginning of the month with full support of KWS rangers. All historically notorious hotspot
areas including: Metava, Kaunguni, Kikunduku, Kiboko and Utu were regularly visited and thoroughly patrolled. This
yielded tremendous positive results that saw 37 arrests being made and booked; the most remarkable one being an
elephant poacher from whom 2 Tusks were recovered and 17 poison arrows. Other dorminant illegal activities
remained logging, charcoal burning and illegal livestock incursion.
The team remains psyched up to do even more in the coming month.
