Ian C Smith - Club Championship Regulations 2015-16 1. The award to be known as the ‘Ian C Smith Championship Trophy’. Highland Car Club will provide a replica. Awards will also be presented to 2nd and 3rd overall in the Championship. The M J Morrison Shield will be award for Highest Placed 1st year competitor. 2. To be eligible for points in the Championship; (a) a competitor/official MUST be a fully paid up member of Highland Car Club. (b) ‘sign-on’ on the official signing-on sheet at the event. Points will not be awarded retrospectively. 3. The Championship is to be decided by the total points in Sections A to B. To be eligible for the Championship a member MUST score points on two events in Section B. 4. A member can only score points once on an event. 5. Stewards of the Championship will be the Honorary President and the Honorary Vice Presidents. SECTION A (a) Points will be awarded on all competitive events stated hereafter for the 2015-16 Club Championship. The first event will be the 2015 Honkers Rally then the 2016 Snowman Rally, the 2016 Gravel Sprint, the 2016 Claymore Rally, the 2016 Brahan Rally, and the 2016 Autumn Rally. 5 points will be awarded to competitors who compete on an event in the 2016 Highland Speed Championship (to a maximum of 20 in the Club Championship). (b) Championship points will be awarded: 10, 9, 8 etc. diminishing to 1. (c) Points will be awarded as follows; Maximum points to be awarded to first in class, diminishing thereafter, depending on the number of class competitors. First overall will be deemed first in class. Points will be awarded depending on the class position of HCC members. Each HCC competitor finishing the 2016 Snowman Rally and the 2016 Gravel Sprint will receive 10 points. (d) A competitor can only score points in one class on an event. If a competitor enters more than one class he/she must nominate the class that is to be used for calculating championship points on the entry form for the event. (e) A tie for the overall Club Championship will be resolved as follows; In favour of the competitor scoring the highest number of 10’s, if the tie remains undecided then 9’s, 8’s, etc. will be used. If the tie is still undecided the winner will be the competitor scoring on the most events throughout the championship. Points gained in Section B will not be used in the tie decider. (f) In the event of a tie in any Championship after 1st, 2nd 3rd places etc. are taken in to decide, the tie will be decided by going to 1st highest result/score. SECTION B (a) Points will be awarded to organisers and marshals on each event (Including the Damsel, the Crofterra Pandemonia and the Spring Tour of the Lochs). Organisers/Marshals on events in the 2016 Highland Speed Championship will score 5 points on each event to a maximum of 20 in the Club Championship. (b) 10 points will be awarded to each organiser/marshal on an event, to a maximum of 20 to count in the 2016 Club Championship. Members must ‘sign-on’ on the official signing-on sheet at each event to be eligible for points.
