Another home game for the Tigers against Dalby Devils. Thanks to Dalby players and supporters for
travelling in for some great competition.
As always, we thank our volunteers who help out with all sorts of jobs throughout the day at our
home games, we couldn’t do it without you.
UNDER 7 - Sponsor - Jared's Coffee Shop
This week we took on Dalby at home. It was the best defensive display we have shown all year. Really
impressed! Well done to all the boys as we look forward to next week.
UNDER 8 - Sponsor - Toowoomba Forklifts
Souths Tigers Under 8’s took on the Dalby Devils in two games. The games were tight with tries hard to come
by. Dalby were full of class players and it took all the skills of the young Tigers to compete with them. At times
it took many passes to break the strong Devils defence. Man of the match performances by the Tigers tackling
machine Izaac Wolff and hard running first year player Same Forrest kept the games close.
UNDER 9 - Sponsor – J & K Hilt Concreting
Both teams had their ups and down on Saturday but as long as the kids keep enjoying themselves that is the
main thing. On Brett’s team, Leo got the award and on Andrew’s team, Tyson received the award.
UNDER 10 - Sponsor - Leisure Pools
After a fantastic game last week, the boys turned up to the weekend’s game with the attitude they only needed
to run out on the field and it would all happened for them again. They found out it doesn’t work that way. There
were patches during the game where they performed really well and showed us what they can do. However,
overall we lacked the intensity and drive we normally have and it showed with the number of penalties we gave
away. Boys, we need to start turning up to training and games ready to listen and go.
UNDER 11 - Sponsor – Clark Rubber
We came up against a good side in Dalby and we played some really good football. We let the ball move
between players and we scored some really great tries. We defended strong as well and held them out on our
line. Keep learning and listening and it’s starting to show.

UNDER 13 – Sponsor – Busby’s Recycling
Boys played with a full team for the first time this season. They played well even though the new boys hadn’t
played rugby league before, they all had a good go. Happy with their effort overall. Will be good to see the
team improve as the season continues. Welcome to the team Alex, Dylan, Artur and Sam.
UNDER 14 – Sponsor – Friendly Grocer – Westridge, Wyalla Plaza & Wilsonton Heights
It was always going to be a test for the boys coming up against Dalby. With what was a very scrappy game the
boys did show some promise but plenty of room for improvement. The team was led by some solid defence
from Jacko and backed up by Nathan. Lleyton showed his attacking skills playing his best game so far. With no
games for a few weeks now will have to get into the training to keep the fitness and skills up.

It's good to see this team gelling together and the older boys getting the younger ones involved every week.
With what was a slow start to the game they quickly turned it around and showed what they have in the
previous weeks. Always good to hear the Tigers song in the shed, so keep up the good work boys and enjoy the
football.

We played against the side to beat in this grade and they showed what level we need to get to. While we tried
hard we lacked in a few areas that we will need to work on before the big games at the end of the year. Hold
your heads high men.
