What do you think is the purpose behind God’s plan of “discipling relationships” within the Body of Christ? 2. Are you currently in a discipling relationship with another disciple? (If married, can’t count your spouse) 3. 4. If so who, and how often do you get together? 5. What would you recommend in your experience as some best practices and/or areas for improvement for discipling relationships within our fellowship? What are some of the specific areas in your life are you getting discipling assistance? If you want advice and assistance in establishing or strengthening a discipling relationship… * * * * “Iron sharpens iron” * To help another live life according to God’s standards so that they may go to heaven. * To build relationships on a deeper level and to help you on a spiritual level. * To enable us to walk together, grow together, earn wisdom and knowledge together, and learn more about God together. To help each other get to heaven. To help one another not just in bad situations, but keeping each other accountable. * * To keep each other spiritual – instruct and teach; keep us from getting a hard heart * To build stronger relationships within the body. * To encourage each other in our faith. To share ways to spread the good news to others * To help each other. To get support from each other and to strengthen each other. * To make us strong. To help each other on making it to heaven * To help each other in our walk with God * * To help each other learn how to be a true and faithful disciple. Also helps us grow with things we don’t know about being a true disciple * A lack of shallowness, objective help, teaching, relational wholeness, love!, iron sharpening iron concept * To help one another stay in touch with our hearts and grow in our intimacy in our relationship with God. To help one another fill our potential doing our part * Keeping us focused on godly things because we are around godly people doing godly things instead of worldly people doing worldly things * To keep us His disciples on a pure and godly track because no one can do it on their own. We must have guidance. * To help each other stay faithful overall especially through challenging times * * To encourage, to teach, to be open to challenge and to hold accountable * To continue to learn about God’s word and how following Him makes our paths straight. Refining our character in making righteous choices * To have people help us get to heaven while we are helping them do the same. Do this by encouraging, challenging, teaching * To encourage others to stay on the right path and to have support to overcome sin in our lives * To help each other make it to heaven. To hold our arms up when we are having trouble. To feel God’s love through one another * Encourage one another to stay spiritually healthy.
