HOW TO LOGIN
• Go to www.IXL.com
OR
• Go to www.IXL.com/signin/tuscaloosa
• If you sign in at www.IXL.com, you will have to
remember to add @tuscaloosa to your child’s
username.
• Type in your child’s username and password
provided by your child’s teacher.
• Once logged in, you should be taken directly to
your child’s grade level practice page.

Your page should look like this:
USING IXL
• Each class will be different. Your teacher should
work on their IXL accounts and let you know
usernames, passwords, and common practices.
• You can work on sections at home. Most sections
will overlap with math content taught in class.
• IXL does not TEACH math concepts, but is
additional practice for concepts already learned.
The main page shows which concepts your
child has completed and how well they did.

• IXL is user-friendly and makes it easy for parents and
teachers to see concepts that your child is excelling
at or struggling with.
• There is a report page that shows you how long
your child has worked and how many problems
your child has completed.

can uncover a new virtual prize.
WHY ARE WE USING IXL?
• It is a fun way to practice math skills. It is more like a
game than practice!
• Helpful and informative for parents and teachers.
• IXL adapts to your child’s ability level. If they answer
questions correctly, it becomes more challenging. If
they answer questions incorrectly, they become less
challenging.
• IXL has audio that says the questions for your
student. All students can use IXL!
