Case Study
 In some districts, like Tung Chung, the
residents do not have a swimming pool in
their district. If they want to go swimming, they need to go
to Tsing Yi. These cause a
lot inconvenience to them.
 From this, we can see that certain sports
facilities are really lacking in Hong Kong.
6
Adult population participating in sports is small as
seen in Exhibit 3. This is mainly because of lack
of facilities.
7
Lack of world-class sport facilities to
the local athletes
The facilities are limited
athletes from different sports need to share the facilities.
Hong Kong Sports Institution (HKSI) is the only place
in Hong Kong to supply all the facilities (e.g. training
places, gyms, nutritionists, psychologists, and
accommodations) for athletes.” said Cheung Yuen Yee, a
windsurfing athlete.

development of local sports will
undoubtedly have a bright future.
