Dear Student
Thank you for recent enquiry for bursary funds.
The Education Funding Agency (EFA) has allocated us £16,000 to award to those
students who need financial support accessing 6th form education. They EFA also make
some rules for us to follow, we must not distribute it in one round of allocations and
they recommend that we keep hold of some of the funds for students just in of
unexpected developments.
As such I have the following decisions have been made for this Round 1 of applications;
All receipts must be provided with your application.
Learning Resources-Laptops/PC’s and printers
There will be no funding for ICT equipment.
Learning Resources-Others including Uniform
Funding for uniforms will be restricted to a maximum of £50.
Funding for learning resources will be restricted to a maximum of £50.
Funding for trips that support your learning will be funded in full up to a maximum of
£100.
Travel Passes
An initial allocation of £100 has been made to all applicants who have applied for funds
for a bus pass. (This amount can be increased if you bring in an appropriate receipt that
shows the cost you have incurred is more than this.)
Any further assistance towards the costs of travel passes will be subject to you living
more than 3 miles away from Deyes, providing evidence of need and supplying a receipt
for the costs incurred or providing us with evidence of other exceptional circumstances.
Other Travel (Work placements)
An initial allocation of £50 has been made to all applicants who have applied for
assistance with costs associated with travelling to and from work placements.
Any further assistance towards costs to and from work placements will be subject to
you living more than 5 miles away from the location of the work placement, providing
evidence of need and supplying a receipt for the costs incurred.
Other Travel-(University open days)
There will be no funding towards these costs except in exceptional circumstances.
Future rounds of applications
The second round of applications will be opened in January 2016.
Access to the bursary funds will be subject to your good attendance as decided by Mr
Delaney.
Access to the bursary funds will be restricted to those who have provided us with
receipts for any funds that they have received (except for exceptional circumstances.)
Please remember that we have a small amount of funds set aside for emergency
situations that you can apply for at any time. Please speak to Mr Benson if you require
another form.
