2005 Richmond Kickers Camp Schedule
RICHMOND, VA – (Tuesday, February 15, 2005) – The
Richmond Kickers are pleased to announce the 2005 camp
schedule. Beginning March 28th, the Kickers will offer an
extensive program with over 60 camps at 15 locations in
the Greater Richmond area with a coaching staff consisting
of professional players and nationally licensed coaches.
“Our camps are truly one of the best in the region,” says
Martin Dell, Director of Youth Development and Camp
Director for the Richmond Kickers. “The Richmond Kickers
provide programs with age-specific instruction, emphasizing player development and most of all,
having fun!”

U14 Kickers Boys and Girls Selected To The Prestigious Dallas Cup
The Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club has five players who have been selected to represent the
Virginia Club Champions League U-14 Boys and Girls Teams at the prestigious Dallas Cup
Tournament March 22-27, 2005. Those selected from the RKYSC Premier teams are Erol Morkoc,
Tara Moore, Jordan Brown, Paige Johnston, and Sam Kucera. These teams are comprised of the
most talented soccer players in their age group from central and southern Virginia. During their
stay in Dallas these players will have the opportunity to be seen by coaches and evaluators from the
Olympic Development Program and will participate in activities with a diverse group of players from
several countries around the world.

Upcoming Education Offerings:
March 11th – 13th – RKYSC is sponsoring an USSF “E” Course. This Course has been
cancelled do to lack of participation. We will look to reschedule this course in the future.
“How can I teach my players to take more shots on goal?”
Players who hesitate to shoot on goal even when it appears that they have a clear shot are
obviously holding onto the ball too long. There are many drills that can help forwards and
midfielders to take more shots on goal even if it doesn't look like they have a clear shot. A common
misconception that many players have is that they can only take that "perfect shot," and many will
wait for that very rare moment when they have a perfect angle and a perfect touch on the ball.
Unfortunately, if all players waited to score until the perfect moment, we'd end up with a lot of
