WA LABOR Delivering Real Outcomes A GOVERNMENT FOR YOU WA Labor Policy December 2016 DELIVERING REAL OUTCOMES DELIVERING REAL OUTCOMES FOR THE COMMUNITY A McGowan Labor Government will drive a change in culture within the public sector and break down the silos that exist to deliver real outcomes for the community. The delivery of services often involves coordination between multiple government departments and individuals, business and community organisations. Whether that be to support people with complex social issues or for a company wanting to develop a parcel of land, effective communication across all layers of government is critical to delivering outcomes for people and businesses. A McGowan Labor Government will ensure that there is better integration in the delivery of services across multiple government agencies and will develop up to 20 KPIs which will be the key priorities of the new government and the standard by which the new government will be measured. Delivering on the KPIs will be linked to 20 per cent of the salaries of Directors General and Chief Executive Officers. STAY INFORMED: markmcgowan.com.au/DeliveringRealOutcomes Mark McGowan MP [email protected] To assist with the process of reforming the Government, a Service Priority Review will be undertaken. The focus of the review will reduce the number of Government agencies and people employed in the Senior Executive Service (SES). There has been a dramatic and unsustainable increase in recurrent expenditure under the Liberal Government including a 36 per cent increase in the number of SES positions. Ratings agencies have noted a failure to control and constrain the level of spending growth within the public sector. The refocussing of government will deliver real outcomes for business and the community and put the State Budget back on a sustainable footing.
